I was exploring some shops on Bainbridge Island in Washington and came across some delightful tiny motivational cards. They were printed and perforated so that someone could tear open the top layer to reveal a secondary message inside.
This idea intrigued me. I liked how delightfully surprising the interaction between the user and the card is. I left feeling inspired to create. It reminded me of playing pull tabs in bars growing up.
The first thing that came to mind to iterate on this concept was to create a post card that someone could receive in the mail and then tear open to reveal a secret message.
Candidly, one of the main reasons I wanted to do this project as a post card was because I stole 10-15 stamps from my parents while in college and realized they were post card stamps, not letter postage.
I used my Cricut cutter and lots of different prototypes varying in cut styles, print areas, and glue alignments, to get the desired effect.
